TCIA was established in 1938 as the National Arborist Association, today's Tree Care Industry Association (TCIA) is a trade association of more than 2,200 commercial tree care firms and affiliated companies. The Certified Tree Safety Professional certification is more than a straightforward "safety trainer" credentialing program, CTSP teaches safety professionals strategies and tactics for changing the very culture of their organization. A CTSP acts as a safety “coach,” working to develop and nurture a culture of safety.
Certifications issued by CIC are nationally accredited by NCCA, the National Commission of Certifying Agencies, are OSHA recognized and accepted by state and municipal license boards across the U.S. CIC certifications meet and exceed current and pending OSHA requirements for certification of crane operators by type and capacity and rigger/Signalpersons qualification by examination.
